Miscellaneous

jacket: anthropologie, shirt: urban outfitters, pants: thrifted, shoes: steve madden, necklace: madewell
a few things i have been grateful for lately include:
a husband so willing to come help when in need.
a couple days ago, while picking up kids from school, the battery died on the car i drive for my work. i had no clue how to jump a car and was in a hurry to get places. i called camden at work and ten minutes later he was there trying to jump start the battery (fyi, small honda cars do not jump large gmc cars very well). he even slightly ruined his new shoes he was wearing because mother nature decided it was time to snow.
a dog who has all of the sudden decided to be a patient dog and not beg constantly for pets while we are working. i have no idea where he learned this trait, heaven knows it was not from me.
the chiropractor for making my back feel one hundred times better every week.
the sweet man at the pharmacy who makes me feel like a saint every time i am there, because apparently people don’t wait patiently for their prescriptions anymore. he makes me look forward to getting those prescriptions filled.
for pretty bows that go in your hair and make you feel like a little kid but still have some sense of sophistication.
for songs that make you feel happy and bring back sweet memories like this one here:

happy tuesday everyone!
p.s. don’t forget to enter the all things lovely giveaway here.
ends tomorrow.

guest post – the egg

Miscellaneous

the egg is a mountain town lifestyle blog, from a local girls prospective. meagan shares on her hip happening blog, her favorite styles as well as her extremely fun life and is not afraid of a bit of sarcasm (now this lady gets my kind of humor!). with her writings and photographs, she captures her adventurous life in what she calls the most beautiful place in the country, jackson hole. i really like this post where she shares a beautiful home decorated “mountain contemporary”, this girl has taste! if you haven’t checked out her blog yet, make sure you get your butts over there to see what meag from the egg has to offer (only a bit of pure awesomeness)! -enjoy your weekends everyone.

just a few of kramer’s favorite things

April 13, 2012

Miscellaneous

i have gotten a lot of questions about kramer and products we use to take care of him, so i thought i would let kramer share with you some of his favorite things.
1
kramer loves these little knitted toys by martha stewart. when i first bought them for him, i thought they were so cute i wanted him to keep them nice. he chewed open the squirrel on the first day. he also likes the little squirrel that has the nuts inside. he loves taking them out just so we can put them back in.
2
this is seriously one of the best buys i have ever bought for kramer. it fits perfectly over the large arms of our couch where kramer likes to sleep. he loves it so much we call it his mother somtimes because he blends right into it. he is lounging on it in the first pictures.
3
obsessed wouldn’t even begin to explain how kramer feels about these bones. he begs for one just about 100 times a day even though he knows he can only have one. he just loves them. i have been starting to give him the dingo dental bones sometimes because they last and keep him occupied for longer.
4
probably just like any dog, kramer loves his walks. he can go for miles until he tires out. in the summer when we walk, he gets hot quickly and will frequently go lay down in puddles of water. it make us laugh.
5
kramer does not love these at first, but on a snowy day in the middle of a walk they really come in handy. because of his fur, snow will stick and clump all over to his feet and legs which makes his feet cold very quickly. these shoes help kramer stay out on walks in the winter longer and they always make cam and i laugh so hard to try and see him walk in them.
6
john paul pet has the best dog care products. i love the teeth wipes. they have a fresh mint taste and keep kramer’s teeth and breath extra fresh. i also love their products because they are against animal cruelty and every bottle states: “cruelty free, tested on humans first”. i first learned about john paul pet while going to paul mitchell the school so it was an easy choice when we got kramer.
and there you have it! have a wonderful weekend everyone and check in tomorrow for a guest post.

i mustache you a question

April 12, 2012

Miscellaneous

when amy from the blog blank pages tagged me in her “i mustache you a question” post i was so excited to answer the questions she had provided. i thought it was such a fun post and a clever idea.  so here you are . . my mustache questions answered!

1 what has been your favorite part of blogging?
i have enjoyed so many aspects about blogging but i think my favorite part is meeting so many new people and making new friends. when i started my blog it never occurred to me i would meet so many nice people and it has been the most unexpected but wonderful surprise of this whole experience.

2 if you could pick one thing to spend your life savings on, what would it be?
well, my responsible answer would be a home but my true answer would probably have to be either a beautiful new wardrobe or all new furniture for our home. i sort of have a redecorating problem.

3 hot or iced coffee?
i don’t usually drink a lot of caffeine because it tends to make me a bit anxious and feel like i may have a heart attack but i definitely would choose iced.

4 what inspires you the most?
this is a hard question to answer. so many things in my everyday life inspire me. but, my favorite things to draw inspiration from are: old libraries filled with old books, certain movies such as you’ve got mail or 500 days of summer, and old polaroids.

5 if you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
i would be an interior decorator, photographer or a visual coordinator for a pretty store. it would be hard to decide though because all three of these categories interest me. maybe, if i could find a way to combine them all, that would be my dream job. a “visual interior photographer” . . sheesh

6 what would have been one thing you would have told yourself when you were younger?
not to worry so much and that everything would work out for the best. i was a very big worrier growing up. i worried just about everything. i would have also told myself not to be so shy and that nothing bad would happen from being a bit more social.

7 what is an obsession of yours?
chocolate dunford donuts and eye glasses. i rarely go a week without one of those delicious donuts and i think i have seven or eight pair of glasses. it has become a problem.

8 who should be the next bachelor?
i know he was kind of a jerk in ally’s season but, i love fred.

9 what is your favorite hobby? (besides blogging of course)
taking pictures, redesigning our home (which, like i said, i do way too much) or doing pretty much anything with yarn.

10 where is your dream destination of living.
nyc, san francisco, or somewhere in england. i seriously hope i live in one of these three areas at some point in my life.

11 trade places with somebody for a week. who would it be and why?
i would choose genevieve gorder or regina spektor. i would love to be an interior decorator like genevieve! i think all of the rooms she does are so lovely. as for regina spektor, her voice is so beautiful and i would love if i could sing as well as her. to have the gift of an amazing voice like she does would be fun to experience. you can listen to one of my favorite songs by her if you click here

feel free to answer any of these questions yourselves and post them on your blogs. thanks again amy, it was fun!
