if i could marry a rug

Miscellaneous

you may or may not know that i am absolutely in love with rugs, a lot! if you were to ask my husband just how much i love them, {who by the way banned me from purchasing any more} he would tell you… we have at least one in every room and that doesn’t even count the ones away in storage on account that there is no floor space left. so um, yeah….i like rugs.
rugs can bring so much life to your home with texture, color and pattern – plus they soften the hard floors and say to your feet “please stand on me”. they come in a variety of sizes and colors so you can personalize them for your home. just make sure you choose the correct size for your space {a mistake i have made a few times}. when choosing the correct size for your living/family room, make sure when everyone sits down their feet rest comfortably on the rug. your rug should also be somewhat centered with the room and allow enough room for people to walk around it yet not being so small it looks “dinky”. when putting one in your dining room, people should be able to scoot in and out from the table without going over the edges of the rug. you get the picture.
so liven up your house with some pattern, texture, and color. your eyes, mind and feet will thank you.
what are you favorite types of rugs? do you have one? two? or a hundred like me? have a picture of your favorite rug? then don’t forget to link up!

thought on tuesday:
tonight we are going out to dinner then to scavenge a second hand store to see what treasures we can find. we have driven past it a few times and it looks so cute from the window fronts, but we have not yet ventured in. my heart is set on a coffee table for our living room so i am definitely hoping to find that – we will see. i’m not sure where we are going to dinner but i do hope we get to have a creme brulee’ for dessert {i have been craving one for the past bit}. we’ll probably turn in early for a quiet night at home. possibly a movie or something low-key, but thats how i like it. what are your valentines plans?
happy valentines everyone!
