disposable camera –> beautiful photos

about a year ago while cleaning out some junk, camden found an old disposable film camera of his that he hadn’t seen in years. it has actually been a while since i have last seen a disposable camera. we set it aside and sort of forgot about it, then a couple months ago, he took it in and decided to get the photos developed. he somehow managed to forget to show me what was on that little camera and stuck the photos away in a cupboard. well a bit ago, while looking for something, i was digging through that same cupboard and came across them and boy was i amazed. they were so cool and unique and frankly i was shocked at camden’s disposable camera skills at probably the age of twelve (i think he has found his calling). i found them breathtaking, all those memories trapped inside, days once forgotten captured in a little photo. they got my creative brain starting to whirl and twirl all up inside until the idea popped in my little brain, how fun would it be to get a new disposable camera, then every once in a while, pull it out to snap a picture. years down the road we can develop them and once again reveal lost memories being rediscovered. i’m seriously giddy over it.
enjoy a few photos taken by camden and his long lost disposable camera.

shirt: urban outfitters, vest: old navy, shorts: j.crew, shoes: dolce vita, necklace: american eagle, bracelets: j.crew, watch: dkny
i’m currently watching the bachelorette, camden and kramer are putting gas in the car, running errands, and hitting up target. we just ate noodles and company and later we might have some root beer floats, shower and go to bed – you know… the usual. sometimes the usual is just perfect.
i feel so lucky that we get to have the “usual” night here and there, just relax and go with the flow. sometimes, particularly after stressful weekends, a night of normalcy is the perfect remedy. there is a certain comfort in that regular night, one i may have found myself complaining about from time to time, but nevertheless it has managed to find a certain place in my heart.
here is to a night of errand doing, reality watching, root beer float eating, showering, sleeping, normal, usual life.

steak dinner gone emergency room

Miscellaneous

friday night camden and i had plans to go with camden’s father to ruth’s chris steak house for dinner in order to celebrate his dad’s birthday. camden had been working all day and called me about an hour and a half earlier than he was supposed to telling me he was coming home because his stomach was killing him.
camden has been complaining a lot of stomach pains lately and it was one of the reasons he gave up diet coke thinking that it might be a cause of his pain, but it didn’t really seem to make a difference. he also thought it was related to stress, however it still seemed to be getting worse and worse, stressed or not.
friday night when camden got home, he said it was the worst it had ever been and the pain was written all over his face. i asked him if he needed to go to the doctor and he said no, that we didn’t have time. he laid there for a little while longer before saying ok, i need to go to the e.r.
i knew then that camden must really be in pain. i mean sometimes it’s hard to tell because he will have a a common head cold and look like he is dying on the couch, literally looking like he is seconds away from his death bed. however when camden mentions the e.r. (which includes spending money) you know it must be serious.
once at the e.r. they gave him some morphine and got fluids running through him, he started to feel a lot better quite quickly. the doctors and nurses were very quick and nice, not your usual four hour emergency room adventure, although our trip was still a bit frustrating.
i don’t know if this happens to you but it seems like 50% of my e.r. run-ins the doctors can’t give you an exact explanation of what they think is wrong, at least without extensive testing like c-t scans and what not. it can be troubling when you know you are in pain yet they can’t seem to tell you why.
they did give camden a medication that has seemed to help so far so fingers crossed that was the issue and his stomach will get better.
seeing your loved ones in the e.r. even though it didn’t turn out to be life threatening, still gives you a new appreciation for who they are and what they bring to you in your life. i could never imagine actually losing camden, it would seem unbearable. it’s sad that we sometimes take the people we love for granted in our lives not realizing how fragile life is and that they could slip through our fingers at any moment. it also gave me a new appreciation for all those out there who have lost their loved ones so dear to their hearts. i can’t imagine how hard that would be and the strength they must have to carry on. i think they are amazing.
it seems camden is ok for now and he has already jumped back into his normal life doing the things he normally would. in fact, as we speak, he is on a twenty five mile bike ride which makes it seem even crazier that just two short days ago he was lying in a hospital bed. i’m so grateful for camden and all the things he does for us in our lives.
we love you camden!

left 118$ // right 19$|12$|29$

it’s no secret, i have never really been the best at finding deals. i have always found it easier to just buy what i know will work, even if that means spending a little extra. being this way and being married to the biggest saver that has ever existed has not always been easy, especially for him.
in some ways camden and i are complete opposites. he is tall, i’m short. he is blonde, i’m brunette. he has blue eyes, i have brown. he is good amazing at saving/finding deals and i’m not
i have been looking for a denim jacket for some time now and that one on the left has been calling my name (loud, and more like a frantic scream actually) but i knew 118$ was a lot to be spending (aka, husband would not be happy). i decided to, wait for it, search out a better deal {gasp}. something that would make us both happy. the other day i came across a crazy find. a very lovely denim jacket in my size for 19$. where did i find it you ask? well old navy of course. i couldn’t believe what a good deal it was.
i have to be honest, the one i bought was a kids size, only because i liked the style of the kids jacket better that the adult ones (one of the few perks of being short i guess) but there were definitely some good options for the adult sizes as well.
not only did i find a steal of a deal denim jacket, but i found an amazing denim vest, as well as a fun little hat for those messy hair days (like at this moment). at checkout my total was almost exactly half as much as the jacket on the left aaand i have three items to show for it. amazing! i think i have turned a new leaf.
so everyone, the fashion trend to try for june is something nifty and thrifty. good luck and happy weekending!
