motoring through the city

April 23, 2012

Miscellaneous

saturday we went on a ride into the city. it was so warm and pleasant, you could smell the orange blossoms and fresh cut grass which is always my favorite part about spring. we had gotten a bit of a late start since camden has been working a bit later than usual. our plan was to go get some dinner, then walk around through some shops and just enjoy ourselves. by the time we sat down to eat, it was almost nine which isn’t that rare lately but it didn’t seem to bother me this time like it sometimes does. tonight seemed different than usual. there was a sense of calm in the air that whispered “relax, everything will be ok”. since it was the warmest day we had seen yet we decided to sit outside to eat which always makes me feel like i am on vacation. it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time either after a harder than normal week. it had just been one of those weeks that nothing would seem to go right, mostly because my brain must have had an aneurism of some sort. nevertheless, just being able to sit there and relax and think of nothing but the sweet smell and warmth flowing in the air was just what this lady needed. after dinner was through, it suddenly donned on us that stores usually close at nine and since we had sat down to dinner at just about that time we weren’t going to have much luck with our previous plan. neither of us ready to yet make the ride home, we decided to still head over towards some shops anyway and just look around. it was surprisingly nice and quiet with no noise of bustling people. we walked around and looked at all of the window displays and light covered trees imagining that we were walking through the shops making jokes about what we would be doing or saying. i had never been window shopping before, but have to say surprisingly, i thoroughly enjoyed it. although our night had not gone exactly according to plan it was still one of the most enjoyable nights we spent together in some time. i was able to snap some pictures while on our ride and just love how the city looked in movement.
when we got back home, cam and i spent hours talking, which i have missed a bit lately. we didn’t talk about bills or anything of that nature which was a nice change of pace for me. we stayed up much later then usual watching the king of queens late into the night. i always forget how funny that show really is. kramer got a bit fed up with us however and decided it was much past his bedtime. it is funny sometimes to watch him try and stay up with us, fighting so hard to keep his eyes opened just because our eyes are. sometimes i think there must be a little person living in that little guy, he couldn’t just be a dog with all the stuff he tries to comprehend and silly human-like traits he has. well, saturday came and went and couldn’t have lasted long enough, but i am grateful for its “happy power” it seemed to have over us and especially me and hopefully was a sign of a much better week to come.
hope all of your weekends were mighty fabulous and don’t hesitate to share any fun experiences with me. i love to read all of your fun stories!

Hi! My name is Charlotte and I blog over at Charlotte’s Web. My day to day life is filled with weird and wonderful things – like cats that do backflips when they get overexcited – as well as a lot of stuff that is a little mundane, like making tea. I kind of talk about all of it, so if your read three posts in a row that mention ‘sugary tea’ or ‘crazy cats’, I’m sorry. Although I do mix things up quite a lot, so your chances of running into that little issue are slim.. but not none, you have been warned.

Some of my favorite things in life are: animals (I talk about them often and try to include cute pictures in random places where possible), tea (obvs.), really good movies (currently obsessed with Titanic and When Harry Met Sally), and discussing the funny side of relationships – which I tend to do often in my ‘Relationshipping’ feature.

If you fancy popping over to a bit of an eclectic lifestyle blog with a mix of funny anecdotes, dating tales, and cutie pies then come and have a nose around by clicking here. Every now and then I might even treat you to a product review, or inspirational message about bettering your life. You never know. See you soon!

a cat (dog) nap

Miscellaneous

some evenings when camden has to work late kramer and i find ourselves nodding off for a little nap. kramer always makes his way up as close to my face as he can then curls his little body around my head as we drift off to far away dreams. these little naps of ours never last longer then about a half hour as i awake to his little white fur balls eyes only inches away from my own if to say “i want to wake you somehow without being the one to wake you but, my belly really needs petting!”.

when we first got kramer as a puppy, camden would let him sleep on the bed and he would trade off sleeping at the tops of our pillows around our heads. however, cam had trouble sleeping when kramer decided to snuggle on his pillow, so he decided krames had to be a big boy and sleep in his own bed. occasionally cam will let kramer come sleep up with us but he will no longer snuggle with us like he once did as a pup. in fact, he prefers to sleep in between our legs before going and getting in his own bed between the hours of one and two a.m. this is why our little naps are so special to me i think, kramer snuggling just like he first did when he was a little(r) fur ball. it takes me back to those early puppy stages that i sometimes miss, just a little (emphasis on the little) and potty training, no thank you!
-have a fantastic weekend everyone!

polaroid love

Miscellaneous

you all know i love polaroids, but what do you do with them after the picture is taken? i always feel kind of sad putting them away in a box or in a photo album were they don’t get looked at very often. i love these ideas below for displaying them around the house, especially the heart display above the bed. it seems really special and what better way to display loving memories? what fun ways do you display your polaroids?
here are the links to the photographs above
