I found this cute heart art idea on houzz.com and fell in love with it and being the crazy girl I am , I thought  I would try and take a whack at it. SOo here you are!

1. I found a heart shape I liked on google images then printed them out with about 20 hearts on each page and around 4 pages to get a total of about 80 hearts. (The first time I did this project I used regular printer paper but found it to be a bit flopy and hard to use. When I did it again I used card stalk which I would strongly recommend plus it looks a lot neater. )

2. I took scissors and hand cut out all the hearts. I placed 2 sheets on top of each other to make it quicker but it comes out more precise if you take the time to do one sheet at a time. ( Also the second time I did this I invested in a heart paper puncher it was a lot quicker and you get exactly the same heart every time. The only con is that I couldn’t find the exact heart shape I wanted. You can find paper punchers at any craft store but I like the shape and size of one from Martha Stewart which I picked up at Roberts Arts and Crafts.)

3. After cutting them out I folded each heart down the middle . It’s important you fold them as exactly in half as you can. It helps it look nicer when putting them together. (On mine I wrote peoples names of a family it was for inside some of the hearts to make it more personal. When doing this write them before folding the hearts it’s a lot easier.)

4. I took a large square piece of card stock for the back and lightly marked with a pencil where I wanted to stick the hearts. Stick the hearts evenly from each other but making some more folded then others to get that funky look that these have. I glued mine on with a craft glue stick because I found it was easiest to work with (Cut your paper to fit your shadow box first then find where you want to stick your hearts.)

5. After sticking all the hearts on you can add a messages to the bottom or anything you want to make it original. Also you can cut out a couple of bigger hearts and place them randomly within your smaller hearts which also gives it some character.

Hopefully in the end you’ll end up with something that looks like this cool funky heart art that you can display in your home anywhere. It’s time consuming but totally worth the effort! Good luck!
