it’s lucky week thirteen which has, true to the superstition of the number, been one of the least lucky weeks yet. before now, it seemed as though my off and on morning sickness was pretty much controlled as long as i kept something in my stomach. but within the past five to six days or so, the nausea and exhaustion have come back with a vengeance … blah. plus, i think i may becoming down with some sort of cold. the air quality has been really terrible due to all of the cold temperatures lately and though i’ve been staying inside as much as possible, i’ve still been hoping that my sore throat and headache are consequences of having to occasionally go outdoors and breathe in pollution, and not from an actual illness … i guess only time will tell.

according to a few pregnancy books and apps, our baby should now be between the size of a plum and a kiwi. because i couldn’t find either a plum or a kiwi at the neighborhood grocer, i went with a very small orange that camden and i both agreed was about the size of your average plum. still no baby bump to speak of, though it’s probably hard to see either way because of the top i was wearing … but still, nonetheless, nothing really quite there. honestly, i’m kind of excited to see a little baby bump down below … even if to just actually look the way i’ve been feeling and to make all of this feel just a bit more real. i’ve been assured it will all happen all in good time though … all in good time.

Awe, thank you! And that is what a friend of mine told me as well … it was like one day it just sort of popped … like those little toys we used to play with as kids … you know those ones that would pop into the air … hahaha!

Don't worry, the second trimester gets so much better… But woah, sleep as MUCH as you can now. I know everyone says that, and I used to think the same, but now that I have a monster, I would pay to sleep! So as much as you can, enjoy your solo time now. 🙂

I've almost started to imagine fruit growing in my tummy instead of a baby … Two weeks ago it was a fig, then turned plum, then kiwi, hahaha! Thank you so much girly!!

Such pretty photos! I've always loved the fruit comparison! I remember wanting the bump so bad, almost like a badge of honor to go with having to feel crappy so much

This is so exciting! Tomorrow I will be 21 weeks (with my first), and I remember only a couple of months ago feeling exactly how you are feeling! At certain points, I was like "Is there really a baby in there??" – it's hard to believe! The whole experience is surreal. But rest assured, it will start to show – and you passed that 12 week mark, which is a pregnancy milestone! Soon, those baby kicks will start and you will be in a whole new world of happy =) So excited for you! – Katy, http://www.thecleverbunny.com

Yes! Exactly it! Sometimes it just feels as though I just feel extra tired and sick but not much else. I'm glad to hear that will soon change … And congratulations! That is so exciting!!
Thanks, Katy … I appreciate it:)

One fantastic thing about pregnancy is the amazing immune system we develop! I have MS (was diagnosed right when I found out I was pregnant) and it was amazing how fantastic I felt during my pregnancy. Sure enough, pretty much right after delivery I started to develop some of my symptoms again. Here's to hoping your amazing immune system gets rid of those symptoms. So happy for you!
