camden and i have been enjoying a few date nights in lately … mostly because it’s freezing out and the roads have been covered in snow … but really, we are just both plain exhausted when the day finaly turns to night. our romantic evenings in, if you will, usually entail winter pajamas with cozy socks, a heater to help our tired radiators that we pretend is a bustling fire, some sort of desert (usually ice cream), hopping into bed just incase we fall asleep (which we usually do), turning on an old mini christmas tree camden has had since he was a child, and watching a movie we both can agree on which can be harder some nights than others. last night we watched sherlock holmes and tonight i think we might venture out for belgian waffles first, then come home and watch the family man. camden and i can always agree on the family man.

you are looking at all the things i’ve been craving lately, minus: donuts, tomato juice, spaghetti, and pickles, but realistically, i had to narrow down some (also, we had donuts after). camden was so sweet yesterday to brave the snow that had been falling all night, to pick up all the things i wanted for our brunch from the grocery store. we had: hard boiled eggs, tomatoes sprinkled with salt and pepper, thinly sliced avocado, grapes with dubliner cheese, clementines, and roasted asparagus with a reduced balsamic vinegar dressing on top.

so many people have now told me that they knew i was pregnant because of all the extra baby pins i was pinning on pinterest. to be honest, i didn’t realize i was actually doing that many more until it was pointed out only just a few times …

camden and i have debated whether or not to say in our same apartment, it lacking in space, or trying to find somewhere else to move. the decision wasn’t hard really … we love our home and being that we’ve moved every year for the last four years, we just weren’t ready to part with it. we’ve decided to get rid of our office, that is literally about the size of a small walk-in closet and turn it into a baby room. we don’t use our office enough to justify moving to have one and … babies don’t need much space … right? anyway, i have been gathering ideas on pinterest on how to decorate little one’s rooms … which come on, is obviously the most fun part …

above are a few of my favorite baby related pins i’ve recently seen … also, if you’d like, you can follow along on pinterest here.

p.s. thank you to all who commented on our baby announcement the other day. camden and i loved reading every single one. they absolutely made our day … thank you!

oh man, did we have quite the christmas tree experience this year. camden and i decided that if we found the right one, we would get a bushier, more full, classic christmas tree this time around, instead of our traditional, skinnier, charley brown like tree that we usually pick and love. found it we did. a quite cute, bushy, green and blue christmas tree it was … so that was that, and on home with us it went. we brought it inside and stuck it on it’s stand, ready for us to frost it with lights, when to our horror, about ten little creepy-crawly spiders fell out of that great big green bushy pine. seriously, this was my worst nightmare realized. camden tried to convince me that these were the only ones in there, that i need not worry about the possibility of our jolly new tree infested with hundreds of spiders. however, i still couldn’t bring myself to string it with lights, so we left it overnight to see if there were any new developments in the morning. the next day, camden at work, i kept my eye on it like hawk to a mouse and i still swear i could see pine needles move ever so slightly. i finally got up the courage to leave the safety of our couch (because spiders obviously can’t get us up there) to nudge it a bit. just like i thought, at least ten more spider began to move throughout it’s branches. that was it. the tree had to go back. it spent the rest of the night and next day outside, then on thanksgiving day, we took it back to the lot and traded it out for our traditional tannenbaum instead. i think we’ll stick to charley browns from now on.
