Wore

we
are
having
our
first
baby!

i just couldn’t keep it quiet any longer … though you may still not be able to tell, camden and i are expecting our first baby in about 29 weeks! needless to say, we are pretty excited. we got to see the heartbeat for the first time a few weeks ago and we’re happy to report, so far, everything seems to be healthy and happy. the last few weeks have been a little interesting to say the least. i’ve been experiencing off and on morning sickness and have been suffering from what i like to call, extreme sleepiness … i’ve probably taken more naps in that past eighty days than i have in my entire life, which would explain the somewhat off and on blog posts popping up around here. i’m happy to report however, i’m beginning to feel a bit more normal as will this blog too. so, here is to our newly beginning adventure as we open a new chapter in our quickly growing life.

i’m dumbfounded i didn’t think of this before … i love these felt garlands … i’m always looking for more but they do seem to run slightly on the pricey side, especially if you want more than one. i was at a craft supply store the other day looking for something when i saw these packages of colorful felt balls for just a few dollars … and then in hit me … why don’t i just make my own?! you guys, this is seriously the simplest and by far best thing i’ve done all year. it took me ten minutes and maybe ten dollars and i had myself a perfectly colorful and special felt ball garland ready for the holiday season.

all you’ll need is: some felted balls, a sharp needle, and some embroidery floss. the hardest part of this whole project was threading the needle with the embroidery floss. simply string them together  until you get a length you’re happy with, then tie loops on either side of the string to end. i really only like these sort of projects if they are somewhat simple to complete … this one takes the cake.

life has been crazy over here lately … changes are upon us and a few projects in store … this blog has been a bit scatterbrained for the past few because of this, but things should be getting more regular and consistent again soon. also, i’m really excited to share with you a three part holiday d.i.y. i’ve been working on … as soon as i can get home from work and take a few pictures before the sun sets … right? anyway it should be up here soon, hopefully by wednesday anyway. oh, and i’m really behind on emails … so if i haven’t responded to yours … just know i will be getting to it soon. thank you for all your patience. hugs kisses and what ever cheesy-ness should next follow;)

saturday morning, just like so many past saturday mornings as of late, i found myself watching the food network, again becoming ever more hungry with each delicious looking recipe. this week i decided to try out these really yummy looking personal key lime pies. and ……… they were amazing. it was a quick fix to all the citrus i’ve been craving … and when i say quick, i mean they really didn’t take much time at all to make and they didn’t require any baking! that said, i have found baking to be quite therapeutic and relaxing lately which is possibly why i’ve been gravitating more and more towards the food network?? furthermore, if you are interested in the recipe you can find it here

there is this thing …

… i love about camden and that is he always does the ironing, plus he is good at it too. like with most things, he never lets it wait either. as soon as the clothes are clean, he goes and gets all the wrinkly laundry that needs ironing out of the basket and gets it done right then and there. he must know if he left it up to me it might not ever get done … me being the worst procrastinator and all. anyway, i just wanted to take a minute and thank camden for all that he does for our home and family, especially the little things, like always making sure the ironing gets done. i love you.
