we are all moved in . . yay! i can’t wait to share with you our new home. come to think of it, i can’t wait until our new home looks like a new home, rather looks like a home at all. things are hectic over at the charlesworth residence at the moment. boxes and things are everywhere and did i mention we have no storage? literally we have no storage. we have had to make some lifestyle changes that’s for sure. – such as: washing all of our dishes by hand and going from 1200 square feet down to about 900, just to name a few. however, we are managing, and once all of our things find a place i think we will manage even better. i would like to thank all of you for your kind emails and messages wishing us good luck on our move. i would also like to thank all of our friends and family who helped us with this move. you all mean the world to us! i have had to come up with some brilliant organizing and storage solutions (with a lot of help from my mom) and i’m working on sharing them with you. our internet is down at the moment so it is taking a bit longer than usual for me to put these posts together. soon i know everything will come together and everything will be back to normal. a “new” normal.

sara & camden by Oana

awaiting in the mail today was this beautiful painting of camden and i done by the immensely talented oana befort. when i opened the charming little package i was immediately rendered speechless with the lovely artwork it so carefully withheld inside. she captured every detail of us down to my overly curvy hairline and camden’s deep, ocean like, blue eyes. the complexity of it all, is in a word . . . amazing. i can’t wait to find the perfect spot for it in our new home. thank you oana! this is something camden and i will treasure for a lifetime.

a little origami heart

first1-4

life over here lately has consisted of painting, packing, sleeping, then more painting, packing, sleeping, with a bit of work in between. our current home is in complete disarray as we try and pack it up, and our new home does not quite feel like “home” yet, as it only has a few boxes currently inside. to try and wrap my head around the fact that in six short days this currently empty shell with almost newly painted white walls will indeed become our new home, i taped up this little origami heart made out of old construction paper found buried in a messy closet. my thinking was that that even something old and once unattractive can become something lovely and beautifully simple. i want it to represent that even through all the stress of packing and painting, in the end a new home with a happy family living inside will become. this is maybe a little bit cheesy (or a lot a bit cheesy) but i think sometimes i need these small reminders to pull me up out of the overwhelming stress that comes with this little thing called moving. so there on a small newly painted wall sits our first bit of decoration, a little origami heart made out of old construction paper.
