my mom is one of the best mothers a girl could ask for. she is an extremely hard worker and i am pretty positive there isn’t anything she can’t do. she deserves the world and i wanted to take the time today to wish her a wonderfully happy birthday. love you mom! 

a motorcycle ride

i know i look pretty convincing (not) but i am not the actual driver of that motor bike, i do however ride on the back of it. i never pictured myself as a girl who would ride (on) motorcycles, i guess i never pictured it meshing with my personality. when camden and i first started dating, he was just starting to get his motorcycle license so i knew early on they were to be a big part of my future. after my first ride on that thing i knew i was hooked. i loved every second and knew it wouldn’t be my last.
all growing up i was an overly fearful person. i have been known to worry, stress, and cry over things that turned out to be very insignificant. i used to have awful night terrors that would keep me from sleeping and i was extremely sure a “baddy” was plotting to kidnap me from my bed just about every night. the older i’ve gotten, i have slightly grown out of this but although my worries have changed from baddies to more grown up worries, i still find myself stressing a bit too often. this is why i never saw myself even on the back of one of those motor bikes. not me, too dangerous. whatever the reason, the fact is that riding does not scare me one bit and i actually enjoy the thrill of being on one. feeling the wind on my face and smelling the warm summer breeze is relaxing and calming to me. 
the other day we decided to head out for a ride. it was really nice but towards the end it got a little cold and windy. once it starts to rain, i know i have no hope of staying warm. we hurried home for a nice warm shower and a hot cup of tea before heading to bed. it was a lovely night and i love being able to have quiet moments with camden on his motor bike.

it seems we have a problem. a sort of dinner problem. one that involves eating fast food and another that involves a table. when dinner rolls around at our house, it sort of goes like this: 
c: what would you like for dinner?
s: i don’t know, what are you in the mood for.
c: i don’t know, is there a particular place you want?
s: hmm, i don’t know what about you?
c: carl’s junior?
s: no . . sweet home chicago?
c: no i am sick of pizza, cafe trang?
s: sure lets just go there.
c: ok lets go. 
(driving in the car)
c: actually how about a take home and bake papa murphy’s pizza? 
s: i thought you weren’t in the mood for pizza.
c: well i am for papa murphy’s
s: ok thats fine lets go there. 
we get the food home, stick it in the oven, slice it up, and sit ourselves down on the couch. this embarrassingly happens to be one of the more healthy meals we ate this week. the number of times we have actually sat down at the dining table in the past year would sadly be under the number ten. it is bad when you know your dog goes and waits at the couch for the food to be ready and not by the table. new goal: make more meals at home and sit at the table to eat once in a while, thank you very much.  

a weekend & a tribute

on saturday, we went to my great grandmother’s funeral. she was born in 1902 which made her 109 years old and the oldest woman alive in the state. she was the sweetest lady and spent her life giving service to her family and loved ones. her funeral to us was bittersweet. it was sad in the sense that we will not be able to see her, but was also happy in that she had been ready to pass on for quite some time and was ready to move on to better and greater things. she lived a long wonderful life and will be missed, but it would be selfish of me to not be happy she finally got to have a new adventure and join her family and husband who have already passed to the other side. 

other things we did this weekend include: hanging out with some family that had come into town, going on walks, watching movies late into the night, a top gear (uk) marathon, dancing to old music, cleaning, playing games, eating fast food, and much much more. here are a few photos snapped during our weekend. 

we also played hide and seek with kramer and put this little video together of his amazing seeking skills. i apologize for the quality, it was taken on my iphone and is a little pixelated and blurry. enjoy.
