last night we had a date night out to a good ol’ fashioned baseball game. we actually had gone on one of our very first dates there, seems like fifty years ago now, and hadn’t been back, just the two of us, since. plus i’ve been craving a really good hotdog for weeks now and can always count on the ball park’s all-star dog stands for just that … i’m pleased to announce … the craving is solved. we also had the biggest ice-cream cones on record to date, which we of course couldn’t finish, and to top things off, our team brought home the win. one of my favorite dates this year for sure!

kramer has decided he is no longer a dog but instead a little man. i mean really, he was never a dog with all his human-like personality traits and all, but lately he has taken things to a whole new level. i’ve noticed kramer watching us very closely recently … always keeping an eye on us … like he is really trying to pay attention to what and why we are doing each little thing, then, without much notice or reason he will decide it is high time that he do it too. just the other morning while still waking up he came up from the bottom of the bed, took one look at camden who, might i add, sleeps with his head tucked between two pillows to block out the morning light, and stuck his sweet head in between those pillows right along with him. if he keeps this behavior up much longer he’ll be cleaning and cooking in no time … one can hope anyway.
have any fun/funny pet stories of your own?? would love to hear them if you do!

… camden had his first saturday off from work since i can remember and we both spent it being sick. because there is this “fun” thing about being married called: “when one person gets sick the other is likely to get sick too” … a profound thought, i know. (p.s. this can happen even if the other one is a complete “germaphobe” and washed his hands a billion times). and this cold … it’s a mean one. i’ve been sick for one week and two days and still sadly counting. we are hoping things are going to clear up soon because honestly, our noses can’t take much more

so this is what i wore saturday sick with camden. we didn’t do much but finally dragged our sorry selves out of the house in the evening to get some dinner and run a few errands. also, with all that lying around we had done earlier that day, i wasn’t much in the mood for being any kind of serious, a.k.a. a complete spaz, as the photos above clearly show … colds are too serious a business anyway.

i wore: shirt, madewell // belt, thrifted // pants, j.crew // shoes, nike // purse, vintage coach // hat, biltmore for madewell

i was so inspired by the indigo fabric dying that was in the latest issue of kinfolk that i got my sisters together for a bit of impromptu tie-dying. being spur of the moment and all, i didn’t have any indigo dye to make that beautiful rich denim hue that i so longed for so instead we mixed a few r.i.t. fabric dyes together to come up with something similar in color. though i’m quite happy with the way they turned out, i would love to do it again with real indigo dye because i’m convinced nothing else quite compares …

this weekend was camden’s first sunday at work since his promotion, which, might i add, completly blows. it’s always nice to have at least one of the weekend days off together … anyway, like i said, it was camden’s first sunday back at work which made my previous days farmer’s market finds an easy and perfect choice, especially seeing how our brunch had to be done and over before eleven o’clock … suppose i should really be calling this one breakfast anyhow… be that as it may, we had plain yogurt slightly sweetened by the smallest bit of honey, topped with large granola clusters and the sweetest blackberries i ever did taste. simple but sweet … just the way i like it … the end.

p.s. sorry for the slower posting schedule this week … i’ve caught a terrible cold and have been taking things a bit slower than usual … thanks for understanding!
